Welcome to the Islamic Schools Association!
In 1996, a group of Islamic school principals came together at the Annual Nonpublic Schools Administrators’ Conference in Albany. At the time, most nonpublic schools in New York State—both religious and independent—were represented by a unified state-chartered organization, but Islamic schools lacked collective recognition or representation at the state level.
Through persistent efforts, the founders successfully secured a charter for the Islamic Schools Association of New York (ISA) from the New York State Board of Regents in March 1999. We are deeply grateful to those pioneers for their dedication in establishing this association. ISA is committed to serving all Islamic schools across the state by providing a unified voice, resources, and information, while staying actively engaged with state and local education bodies to support the evolving needs of Islamic education.
